Some fixes to the problem

1. Removing the antivirus

Sometimes, the antivirus software also blocks the administrator features. In that case, try disabling the antivirus and connecting. If it works, uninstall the software and contact the manufacturer. If it does not work, follow the next fix.

2. Disabling Windows defender

  • Open Settings and move to Update & Security.
  • Also, one can use Windows Key + I.
  • Move to Windows Security and click the Open Windows Defender Security Center
  • Move to Virus & threat protection.
  • Select Virus & threat protection settings.
  • Find and disable Real-time protection.

3. Modify group policy settings

Sometimes, modifying the group policy settings may also help get rid of the problem, just follow the steps below.

  • Start by pressing Windows Key + R to open the run dialog box.
  • Enter gpedit.msc and press Enter.
  • Now, navigate to Windows Components -> Windows Defender Security Center -> Virus and threat protection.
  • Open Hide the Virus and threat protection area.
  • Choose Not Enabled and click Apply followed by OK.

Restart the computer to check if the problem is solved.

4. Ending defender’s notification process

  • Start by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc that will open the Task Manager.
  • Find Windows Defender Notification, open it and choose End Task.
  • After this, close the Task Manager.
  • Locate to C: Program Files/Windows Defender and run MSASCuiL.exe file.

5. Editing the registry

  • Start by opening the Group Policy Editor.
  • After that, open Computer Configuration -> Windows Components -> Data Collection and Preview Builds. From the right panel, click the Allow Telemetry.
  • Choose Enabled and select Full. After that, click Apply and OK.
  • Double-click Allow Telemetry and set it to Not Configured and save it.
  • Restart the PC.

After the restart, open cmd and follow the steps below.

  • Start by pressing Windows + X.
  • Select Command Prompt (Admin)from the menu.
  • Type the following command-

REG DELETE “HKLMSOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindows Defender” /v DisableAntiSpyware 

Restart the system to check if the problem is solved.

6. Making sure administrator account is being used

  • Open Settings and move to Accounts.
  • Select Family & other people and choose Add someone else to this PC.
  • Now, choose select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information -> Add a user without a Microsoft account.
  • Enter any username and click Next.

Now, upgrade it to an administrator account using the following steps:

  • Open Settings and locate to Accounts > Family & other people.
  • Select it and open Change account type.
  • Now, change Account type as Administrator and press OK.

7. Enable hidden administrator account

Just follow some easy steps to enable the same.

  • Start by pressing Windows + X.
  • Select Command Prompt (Admin)from the menu.
  • Type the following command: net user administrator /active:yes

Restart the system to check if the problem is solved.
