Steam as known is one of the top grossing gaming clients for windows that allows users to buy, download and play games that are available on their vast library. Recently, many users reported that steam is showing an error of missing files.

Some fixes to the problem
1. Closing the igfxEm module
Most of the times, the igfxEm module causes the problem. To fix the problem,
- Start by right-clicking the Taskbar and selecting Task Manager.
- Choose More details found at the bottom that will show all the processes.
- From the Processes tab, find igfxEm Module, select it and click the End Task.
Launch the service again to check if the issue still persists.
2. Modifying download region settings
- Open the Steam application and click the Steam from the top and open Settings.
- Choose Downloads and change Download region using the drop-down menu.
- Select the OK option and retry starting the game.
3. Repairing library folder
- Restart the system and launch Steam.
- Choose the Steam option and select Settings.
- From the Settings bar, choose Downloads and locate to the Steam Library Folders.
- Click on Repair Library Folder.
Let the process complete and restart the PC.
4. Cross check if the error indicated corrupted files
- Open Steam client and click on Library button.
- After that, Right-click the game and open its properties.
- Open Local Files and select Verify the integrity of the game cache.
Let the process complete and restart the application.
5. Run the client with administrator privileges
Last but not the least, it has also been observed that inability to run the client as an administrator may also cause the error to arise due to limited accessibility.
- Press theWindows Logo Key and R to open the run dialog box.
- Type%ProgramFiles(x86)% and hit ok.
- Right-click on Steam folder and choose properties.
- Open the Security tab and open advanced.
- Change the permission of Users and System to Full Control using the Edit button and clicking OK.
Open Steam and relaunch the application.
