Chip Giant Intel Partners Domestic Firms For Make In India Laptops

Intel, a big company that makes computer chips, made an agreement on Friday. They joined hands with eight Indian companies that provide electronic manufacturing services and design original products. This partnership aims to speed up the manufacturing of laptops in India, as part of the “Make in India” initiative.

The companies Intel is working with are Bhagwati Products Ltd, Dixon Technologies India Ltd, Kaynes Technology India Ltd, Optiemus Electronics Ltd, Panache Digilife Ltd, Smile Electronics Ltd, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd, and VVDN Technologies Private Ltd.

Intel is doing this to support the “Make in India” campaign and help promote technological advancement in the country.

India and other countries have signed an agreement to lessen the dangers of AI.

Following a successful AI Safety Summit in the UK, India’s Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has announced that the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) will meet in New Delhi in December. This decision comes in response to increasing concerns about the risks associated with AI.

During the UK summit, India, along with 27 other nations including the US, the UK, and the European Union (EU), signed a declaration. This agreement reflects their commitment to working together to assess the risks associated with AI, given the growing concerns about the potential disruptions that AI could bring. The declaration was signed by Minister Chandrasekhar. He emphasized India’s dedication, mentioning that the government started defining clear principles and fundamental elements for technology policy-making about two years ago, aiming to address both current and future needs.

WhatsApp has blocked more than 7.1 million problematic accounts in India.

intelIn September, WhatsApp banned a record-breaking number of over 7.1 million problematic accounts in India, following the new IT Rules 2021. Out of these, about 2.57 million accounts were banned by WhatsApp proactively, even before users reported any issues. WhatsApp, the widely used messaging platform in India with over 500 million users, also received a record 10,442 complaints from users in September, and took action on 85 of these reports.

Apple earned the most money from smartphones worldwide in the third quarter.

However, there was a remarkable 15 percent increase when compared to the previous quarter, reaching a total of over $100 billion in revenue during the September quarter. This signifies a notable growth in the smartphone market, with Apple leading the way in terms of revenue.
